Seriously . . .
No, this is not about the cans of pop and boxes of candy you sneak into the movie theater.
It's not even about remembering to keep well-stocked with your feminine supplies.
Although those are two life-altering decisions, I'm here to share a third.
That dream you've been spinning around for years, and are ready to make a reality?
The to-do list for your spring cleaning this week that's completely overwhelming you?
A gift that you can't wait to buy for your husband, but haven't found a way to afford it yet?
Whatever it may be. You need to put it in your purse.
It's amazing how powerful just having your goals nearby can be.
It's like creating a vision board that travels.
It makes your goals nearly impossible to forget.
I tried this several months ago when I was first applying for my position at the 911 center. I kept the letter with my interview time securely in my purse. Even when I was starting to lose hope for a call back, I kept it. When the letter requesting a second interview came around, I tucked it in safely and confidently next to the first letter. It was more than being positive and proactive. These letters became visual reminders of what God had provided for me and brought me through. They aren't lucky charms or spiritual tokens. . . Yet seeing those letters every time I opened my purse gave me a sense of purpose, and now they give me a sense of hope.
It is amazing what we can accomplish when we set out with purpose and look back in thankfulness.
